Nine students from the School of Literature and Communication at Wenzhou University of Technology won five awards in the AI video category of the 2026 International Youth Theatre Film Conference. The university was also named the "Outstanding Organizing Unit of the Year."

"The 73rd Minute," created by Shi Kangyi and Shi Xiaosa, won the Best AI Technology Application Award — one of only seven handed out nationwide, and the top honor in its category.

Two films took silver — "The Journey Begins" and "The Inkstone's Landscape." "Sand" and "The Old Street's Original Aspiration" won bronze.

All five works were created by the students majoring in internet and new media.

The results reflect the university's push to bring AI into its liberal arts teaching. The school has adopted a training model around the principle of "technology empowering art, innovation integrating culture."

Over the past two years, the university has built a strong record in AI-generated content competitions. Its faculty and student teams have entered more than 30 contests and platform-based programs, winning over 165 awards. Their work has since been exhibited at international events including the Pingyao International Photography Festival and the AI art exhibition at Expo 2025 Osaka.
